M. o* f0 p8 q# I 　　据CityNews报道，卡尔加里爱护动物协会(Calgary Humane Society)统计数字显示，从2014年1月1日到8月31日，卡尔加里爱护动物协会接收1500只弃养宠物，这个数字倒2015年同期跃升到 1673，2016年到目前为止，已接收1635只弃养宠物。与此同时流浪街头的猫狗数量也有大增。 * F; d- P7 J5 V' w3 L 　　爱护动物协会Sage Pullen McIntosh说﹕不少卡尔加里居民面对裁员﹑不明朗经济局面﹐他们实在是走投无路了﹐才会下狠心这么做﹐通常他们宁愿放弃很多东西……没饭吃……必要时欠交一个月租金。但他们如今失去一切﹐耗光全部储蓄或是全部家财﹐无路可走了。尽管他们很想留住宠物，但确实无能为力了。 　　Sage Pullen McIntosh解释大群宠物流落街头的原因﹐大抵是人们无法面对现实，不好意思亲自送宠物到中心。她说，宠物送到中心，主人必须道别，其情其景叫人心伤。有谁愿意把自己的家人送给别人收养呢? 　　现在大约有400个宠物生活在收养中心，今年一直保持在这个数字水平。被弃养的宠物大部分为猫，同时一些昂贵的宠物如蛇和爬行动物等也越来越多。对主人来说，这些宠物越长越大，照顾它们的费用非常昂贵，主人无奈只有弃养。但是对收养中心来说照料这样的宠物也非常吃力。
